Abiu, also known as golden star apple, is native to the amazonian region of South America.
The abiu fruit can have a spherical to oval shape, often pointed at the distal end. The fruit's
flesh is creamy and jelly-like, with a sweet taste described as caramel-like. The pulp is semi-
transparent and has a custard-like consistency, making it easy to scoop out with a spoon, with
the seeds being easily removable. When ripe, abiu fruits turn bright yellow, and they are
known for their sweetness.
