Description
The Matoa fruit, scientifically known as Pometia pinnata, is a tropical fruit native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. It is prized for its unique flavor and texture. Inside, the Matoa fruit reveals a soft, translucent flesh that is usually white to pale yellow. The flesh is juicy and has a delicate, somewhat creamy texture. It is surrounded by a large, inedible seed. The texture of the flesh can be compared to that of a ripe lychee or longan but with a more fibrous consistency.
